About Shanks Rajendran:
Shanks Rajendran is a 28-year-old filmmaker (born July 11 1986). Film-making has always been Shanks’s passion, focusing on making documentaries that explore issues like poverty, deprivation, failures and success within specific communities and society at large.
Shanks’s objective in all his documentaries is to give the subject – the people, the events, the place – the opportunity to speak for themselves, and about themselves.
“A lot of documentaries now have an “agenda” and an angle they decide on, prior to production; I stand on a neutral point of view and let the person in front of the camera steer the show,” says Shanks Rajendran.
